NCOs

Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) are officers with limited powers which can be appointed while a campaign is running, unlike Commissioned Officers who are normally promoted before a campaign begins.

Purpose

NCOs are a tool we use to allow for a command presence on servers at all times. Ordinarily NCOs operate under control of Officers to ensure given tasks are carried out. When no Officer is present, NCOs assume control for the battle and act as if they had officer status. One NCO should assume command instructing the others on tasks necessary to ensure proper battle management is carried out. Violations of their orders are the same as violations of officers. They will attempt to keep track of problem players and they will be referred to officers for punishment when one becomes available. In this case punishment may be delayed until the next battle.

CO Cadets

CO Cadets are a special class of NCOs first introduced in ViE#2 in the 2. Kreuzer-Flottille. They have the same powers as their respective NCO equivalents (see rank class 7 and 7b, 9 and 9b and 11 and 11b) but may be assigned to special tasks and are closely observed by the COs, for they will automatically become COs if doing a good job while serving as Cadets. Since ViE#3, CO Cadets can also be found at soldier level (Caporale AU).

Ranks

A variety of NCO ranks exist. Unlike it is the case with the soldier ranks, both sides have roughly the same number of NCO ranks, with some grades being left open by certain army types.
