Leutnant zur See (which literally translates as German for 2nd Lieutenant at Sea) is the lowest Axis Kriegsmarine CO rank equal to the Heer rank of Leutnant (2nd Lieutenant). It was first used in ViE#2, in the 2-KF.

Position within the Chain of Command

Leutnant zur See is classified as OF-1 in the NATO System and Squad Leader, Lower Grade (13) in Ewoks rank classification system. It is the lowest CO rank. The next lower rank would be the NCO rank of Oberstabsbootsmann. The next higher rank is Oberleutnant zur See.
